DAS - Device Administration Service –Reference Project in Czech Republic

Together with OKsystem one of Elatec’s key IT partners of Czech Republic, Elatec has launched the DAS solution (Device Administration Service) at a major consulting company in Czech Republic (TurboConsult, please find more info about them at www.turboconsult.cz, they call themselves an IT company more than consulting company, you can find it in the about us section) . Together with DAS the consulting company operates Gemalto Hybrid Smart Cards (Gemalto .Net and mifare 4K).
This is Elatec’s 2nd DAS reference project after the one for a Municipality in the Balkans.
What is DAS?
In short words DAS is a solution for initialisation and for PIN management of Gemalto .Net PKI cards.
For SMB's (Small and Medium sized Businesses), DAS makes provisioning and supporting of Gemalto .Net devices fast and simple.
SMB's have the same needs for digital security and identity protection as larger enterprises. They need to protect network access and user identities with strong authentication. They can also leverage the benefits of PKI services, such as digital signature, file encryption and secure remote access to enhance productivity and business process efficiency. However, they typically do not have IT resources available to implement, support and maintain strong authentication solutions based on Microsoft technology. Gemalto .NET smart devices feature customizable two-factor authentication and full cryptographic capabilities seamlessly within the MS Windows environment.
We (Gemalto / Elatec) help meet these challenges with a family of strong authentication solutions based on Microsoft Technology while remaining focused on their core business opportunities.
DAS is a turnkey provisioning, administration and support service for all Gemalto .NET strong authentication devices. It enables IT administrators and end-users to perform routine deployment and device management services via web browser interface. This hosted service is fully supported and maintained by Gemalto.

Built around the Microsoft .NET Framework, DAS incorporates a Gemalto browser extension that enables enhanced management of Gemalto .NET end-user devices with Web services. It is compatible with Microsoft internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox web browsers and runs on Windows 2000, XP, VISTA and Windows 7 operating systems. The DAS service includes both an Admin Portal for IT usage and a User Portal with end-user self service capabilities.
