Elatec launches new LEGIC® reader

As a member of a new reader family called TWN3 Elatec launches its first RFID-Reader with LEGIC®-Technology. LEGIC® is the starting point, other technologies will follow. Manufactures of devices and system integrators that use RFID readers in different applications will benefit from small format and identical interface independent of the technology used.
The new TWN3 LEGIC® reader supports communication with LEGIC® advant and LEGIC® prime transponders. LEGIC®-based solutions offer up-to-date security features and compatibility to standards ISO15693, ISO14443 and LEGIC® RF-standard. This TWN3 LEGIC® reader is designed for coding and verification of RFID Cards, coins and other transponders via a PC.
Elatec offers this TWN3 Reader as OEM-board and as deskreader in housing. The compact sized device is equipped with 2 LEDs and a loudspeaker. As communication interface USB and RS232 – coded via cable – are available.
In near future other versions of TWN3 reader will follow that support HID (Prox, iCLASS), MIFARE® (1k, 4k, DESfire®, Mini, Ultralight) and 125 kHz Multitags (EM-Series, HITAG™-Series, Atmel®-Series). „With our new TWN3 product line we cover with one single format nearly all available RFID technologies “, Stefan Haertel, Department Director RFID at Elatec Vertriebs GmbH points out. „Manufacturers of devices that have to integrate multiple RFID standards only need to integrate the Elatec reader once and are independent for various technologies in future then.
