Loyalty Cards

Also known as bonus cards, gift cards, membership cards.

This card shall increase the loyalty of the client by doing purchase in same shopping store or same chain of stores or group of stores.
For this loyalty the clients collect bonus points. At certain level of points collected clients can get products for free or can purchase products for cheaper price.
The type of bonus scheme (loyalty scheme) depends on how the store defines the bonus procedure for clients.

Mostly loyalty cards are printed PVC cards (0,76 mm thickness) with magnetic stripe (either type LoCo 300 Oer  or type HiCo 2750 Oe). The cards can have a signature panel, too, where client has to sign it on back side of card.
Other types of loylalty cards can be smart cards, too. Instead of magnetic stripe the card can have a contact chip or an RFID chip.
In all 3 cases the card communicates for each bonus point collection or deduction procedure with the corresponding terminal (magnetic stripe terminal, smart card terminal or RFID card terminal).

Encoded and personalised Loyalty cards ready for use by client can carry

  • Client name and / or client number and / or Barcode (personalised on cards either with thermal transfer print or with inkjet print or by embossing)
  • Barcode
  • Encoded magnetic stripe

Typical issuers of loyalty cards are shopping stores, big shopping chains, petrol
station chains, airlines, hotels, golf clubs, cities (citycard focussing on member
shops) etc.
